Yellowworld.org is a community portal dedicated to the cultivation of a collective Asian political and social consciousness. By fostering positive interaction and relationships, we seek to provide a medium in which the distinctions of ethnicity, class and self-interest are buffered by a foundation of trust, responsibility and respect. It originally began as a community forum at LiveJournal.com in January 2002 and went live as yellowworld.org on May 8, 2002.
In November of 2002, Yellowworld.org helped launch the Justice for Anna Guo campaign, a collaborative effort of Yellowworld.org, the Chinese American Citizens Alliance (CACA), the Asian Pacific American Bar Association (APABA) and Assemblymember Judy Chu (D-Monterey) to bring about justice for a 14-year old girl shot three times by police yet convicted for felony assault.
In October 2002, Yellowworld.org launched the successful Project Anti-Disguise campaign to raise awareness about costume manufacturer Disguise, Inc. and their racist mask, "Kung Fool." Eight days and 8,300 signatures later, Disguise agreed to recall its product.
Yellowworld.org is a not-for-profit organization funded entirely through donations. Please continue to support our efforts.
